New partner joins fast-growing DTE audit team

Seasoned business adviser Kevin O'Brien has joined UK Top 30 accountancy and professional services firm DTE as an audit and business advisory partner.

His appointment is key to the Manchester-based firm's strategy to grow its audit and business advisory services across the North West.

O'Brien will work mainly with owner managed businesses, with an additional remit to expand DTE's client-base among professional services firms, including solicitors and doctors in general practice.

He has joined a 20-strong North West audit team that has grown by 20 per cent in just three months, with further appointments expected.

O'Brien, who qualified as a chartered accountant in 1985, was recruited from a well-known, central Manchester firm of chartered accountants, where he was a partner and shareholding director responsible for advising a wide range of entrepreneurial businesses, professional services firms and publicly funded organisations.

Born, raised and still living in Oldham, he attended the town's Hulme Grammar School before gaining a degree in accountancy studies.

Commenting on the appointment, DTE managing partner Keith Train says: "Attracting someone of Kevin's proven calibre says much about this firm's stature among our peers. I am confident that his input into the audit team at the most senior level will further underpin the enormous strides forward that we have taken in the last three years."
